The Treasury of Christian Spiritual Classics
Edited by Timothy P. Weber
Thomas Nelson (1994); 586 pages
About the Book
The book contains the full text of five classics in the literature of spiritual formation, each of which is introduced by the editor.
How It Will Help
This book will help the preacher enter the deep tradition of spiritual formation in the Christian church. All of these writers predate the term "spiritual formation" as a movement; they all considered disciplined formation a necessary practice of the devoted Christian. Their insights will be invaluable to pastors and congregations alike.
