A Fine Catch
A young minister recently invited two of us to fish in one of his favorite spots. We had fished for an hour when the minister's wife arrived with news: A wedding was going to take place right where we were fishing. The minister explained that he had promised to drop what he was doing and perform a marriage whenever the couple decided on a date. They had chosen this day.
With proper papers in hand, the couple arrived. We washed the fish smell from our hands and tried to make our outdoor clothes presentable. My friend took the pictures, I stood by the groom with rings in hand, and the minister's wife stood by the bride. When the papers had been signed and the couple drove away with joy on their faces, we all agreed the groom had caught his bride.
Then we went back to catching fish.
