Slavery in 1860:

  • 25 million slaves worldwide

Slavery Today (as of 2012):

  • 27 million slaves worldwide
  • $140 - median price per slave
  • 0 percent of slaves are legal

The average lifetime of a slave is six years, after which they escape, set free, or die.
