Watch Out for 'Wexters' and 'Pedtextrians'

In the past few years we've seen the emergence of words like "chexting" (cheating on one's partner via texting), "drexting" (texting while drunk), and "brexting" (breaking up with someone via text message). But last week The Wall Street Journal reported on the latest texting danger—wexting (or walking while texting). And someone who engages in wexting is, of course, a "wexter." The article noted a "2015 pedestrian safety study prepared by the Governors Highway Safety Association warned of the dangers posed by 'petextrians,' who tend to keep their heads down and have difficulty walking in a straight line. A closely related term showed up in the writing of an early observer of this phenomenon: Silicon Valley technology forecaster Paul Saffo wrote in 2008 that we should beware of 'pedtextrians,' as they can be 'potent weapons of mass distraction.'" Walking and texting just don't mix well.

Possible Preaching Angle:

In the same way on our "walk" as followers of Christ requires less distractions and more focus.
