Greater Love Hath No Dog …

Speaking of sacrificial love, here's a great story about a man's (and maybe a whole family's) best friend—the loyal dog. About four years ago, a farmer in India took in a stray dog with his family, affectionately naming him "Jacky." Recently, the farmer was allegedly sleeping outdoors when the dog sensed the presence of a tiger nearby. Barking and struggling to alert his owner to the danger, the dog then attacked the tiger to protect the farmer and allow him to escape. The man reached safety successfully, but villagers later found the body of the dog who had given his life so that his owner could have his. "Jacky returned the favor of a few chapatis [Indian flatbread] a day by giving up its life," said the farmer. "I wish humans could learn from it and how to love others and show devotion."
