The Seven Deadly Social Networks

In 2011 Reid Hoffman wrote a piece in The Wall Street Journal that described a theory of social network success. In it he says, "Social networks do best when they tap into one of the seven deadly sins." Well five years later Robinson Meyer for The Atlantic revisited this idea and matches a social network up to each of the deadly sins. Here is what he had to say:

Lust: Tinder
Gluttony: Instagram
Greed: LinkedIn
Sloth: Netflix
Wrath: Twitter
Envy: Pinterest
Pride: Medium
Vanity/Vainglory: Facebook
Acedia: Tumblr

Possible Preaching Angle:

What do you think? Do you think his list is accurate? Meyer gives great descriptions for each of the deadly sins and social networks. Use these in your next sermon when you are talking about the fruit of the Spirit.
