Three Cheers for Dad
Wouldn't it be nice to go take a test and be welcomed by your own personal cheering squad? Kids in Mississippi's Jackson Public School District were able to do just that, thanks to the WATCH D.O.G.S. Support Scholars Test Rally. The WATCH D.O.G.S. program is "an initiative that helps gets dads involved in kids' education and safety," and at this particular event, dads—as well as "grandfathers, uncles, step-fathers, father-figures, and even dads who [weren't] biologically connected with anyone at the schools"—came together to support and cheer on students who were arriving to take standardized tests. One group of supporters "formed a tunnel and high-fived the kids, gave them fist-bumps and offered up encouraging words."
Possible Preaching Angle:
Isn't it a comfort to know that another Father—our own heavenly Father—is ready to cheer us on, too?
