A Walk Around the World
PBS Newshour for one of their segments recently caught up with a man who walked 500 miles and then walked 500 more. Or matter of factly, Paul Salopek is on a decade-long walk around the world. PBS Newshour talked with him as he was preparing to follow the Silk Road from Central Asia into China (an 1,864-mile trek). Salopek, who is a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, embarked on this walk to follow the path of the original human emigrants, Salopek is calling this walk "The Out of Eden Walk."
Possible Preaching Angle:
While not in the same level of majesty, this reminds us of the One Who embarked on an "Out of Heaven" walk and came and tabernacled among us. Jesus came to walk the world, but he didn't just come to walk it, he came to save it.
