Researchers Identify 412 Emotions
In his book Whisper, Mark Batterson writes that Robert Plutchik, professor emeritus at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, has identified eight basic emotions: joy, trust, fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, and anticipation. The emotion annotation and representation language (EARL) suggests 48 basic emotions. And Professor Simon Baron-Cohen of the Autism Research Centre has identified 412 emotions with corresponding facial expressions.
