Actor Lauded for Rescuing Baby from Overturned Vehicle
Actor Danny Trejo is no stranger to playing the hero in movies, but his most recent escapade made a real-life difference. A native Angeleno, Trejo happened to be at the scene of a vehicle accident. He told the local ABC affiliate, “A lady ran a red light and crashed into that Explorer and flipped it over. There was a baby inside and a grandma.”
The veteran actor, 75, leapt into action. Trejo slid into the totaled vehicle from the opposite side, and enlisted the help of another young woman, who eventually unbuckled and helped bring the child to safety. Trejo was quick to deflect any praise for his heroism: “The only thing that saved that little kid was a car seat.”
In addition to his star turn in the 2010 film Machete, Trejo has over 300 acting credits on his resume and also owns two businesses in Hollywood. Reflecting on his good fortune, Trejo said, “Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else.”
Potential Preaching Angles: Sometimes God puts us in a position to be an immediate blessing for someone in need; that opportunity is not a burden, but a privilege. We participate in the work of God by availing ourselves to bless others.
