This is my first time to greet you from the editor's column of this newsletter. After pastoring three churches in a variety of settings—from Duluth, Minnesota, to Long Island; in rural, suburban, and urban churches (preaching to turkey farmers and biochemistry professors)—I'm excited to serve as the new managing editor of PreachingToday.com. For the past twenty years, I've known the weekly challenge and joy of sharing God's Word with a real group of saintly-sinners. For me, few things top the holy delight and glad duty of preaching (which I plan to keep doing, Lord willing).  

I know how challenging it is to preach through the busy and stressful Christmas season. This week's sermon by Mike Woodruff, The Larger Christmas Story, walks us through the Bible's "big picture" of Jesus' birth. Also, check out this week's illustrations, which also inspire us to focus on the larger story of Christmas.
