Tim Keller: Easter Explains Everything
I preached on 22 Easter Sundays in a row. I've read hundreds of Easter sermons. So I know a classic Easter message when I see one, and this week's sermon by Tim Keller—Jesus Vindicated—is a classic. It's not just a sermon; it actually contains about six ways to approach your Easter sermon. And according to Keller, in one sense, Easter explains everything about our faith. Keller writes, "The resurrection, as you can see throughout these verses, is actually a key to understanding all the Scriptures … The resurrection paired with the cross makes the cross make sense and opens all of Scripture." Read the whole thing. Read it even if your Easter sermon is already set. Let Keller's thinking on Easter feed your own soul.
This week we also feature an interview with Bishop Stewart Ruch III on "Best Practices for Holy Week Preaching." Ruch explores how to get your own life ready for the Palm Sunday-Easter Sunday preaching challenge. It's chockfull of practical ideas and pastoral advice from a leader who's church knows how to focus on Holy Week.
This week to help you in your preaching efforts we offer the following:
